India Pakistan History

The India Pakistan history occupies a significant place in the political history of India. The birth of both the nations took place at the same time when the British divided the country into two parts before they left India. There was a specific basis of the division. The British Decided that those parts of India, where more than 75 per cent of the whole population belong to the Muslim community, would be included into the newly formed country named Pakistan. The rest of the then British India would form the country of India.

It would have been otherwise all right. But the problem arose because of the princely states not being included into this arrangements. These princely states were let to have the liberty to decide their own future. They were left with three basic options. Apart from joining either of the two countries, India and Pakistan, they were also left with the option of remaining as separate states.

Kashmir was one of those princely states. The ruler of the state of Kashmir, Hari Sing Dogra, came to the decision that his state would remain independent, without joining any of the newborn countries. As a result, Kashmir became a very easy target since it is a very little state, that could be easily conquered by any country.

Pakistan had sent the Lashkars to talk over the rethinking of Kashmir's decision to remain an independent state. The Indian government found some foul intention in the action of the Pakistan Government. It seemed to the Indian government that Pakistan was invading Kashmir. As a result, India deployed army to add to the defence force of the state of Kashmir. India Pakistan History witnessed the first ever battle between them. India became victorious controlling 63% of the state, while the rest was occupied by Pakistan.

There had been another battle in India Pakistan History. In the year of 1971, Pakistan started intruding into India through the eastern border of the country of India. Pakistan also attacked the Muki Bahini, a group of Bengali freedom fighters. They even manage to strike a number of airfields in the western border of India. India had no way left other than declaring war on Pakistan. India won the war within two weeks.

There was one more war between India and Pakistan in the year of 1999. This was the last war fought in the India Pakistan History. It was the Kargil War. The Pakistani militants intruded into India and occupied a vast area including some of the peaks. It was an enormous war. The learned leaders of the whole world were afraid of a nuclear war between India and Pakistan. It was one of the glorious victory that history of India has ever included. It was quite tough for the Indian army to win over the Pakistani militants who had already been conveniently placed in the bunkers on the hill peaks. Yet it is by dint of the courage and bravery that the Indian soldiers achieved victory.
